the role
we are building a great kitchen team to deliver the exciting new menu in our casual dining restaurant, the buttery. we’re looking for an experienced and reliable chef de partie to join us full time working day shifts. a cheerful disposition, a calm approach and a can-do attitude are absolutely essential for this job!
main responsibilities & duties
as a cdp you will be working as part of a small team under the head chef to take help in preparing and running food service, as well as providing general support to keep kitchen operations running smoothly. the key duties of the role will be as follows:
preparing, cooking and plating breakfast and lunch dishes to the required standard set by the business and kitchen management
ensuring the food preparation areas are kept clean and hygienic
ensuring that food waste does not exceed expected levels
managing deliveries of produce and supplies
maintaining all equipment within the catering operation through due care and diligence
practicing high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen
assisting the team in ensuring that all food safety paperwork is completed on a daily basis
what we’re looking for
for this role we need an individual with the following attributes:
at least one years’ experience in a similar role
experience with fast-paced service
good understanding of dietaries and allergens
able to speak english to a good level, with strong communication skills with front and back of house
able to work under pressure and maintain standards during busy times
