role purpose

to lead and project manage nrw s freshwater monitoring review. you will drive delivery of the project to ensure completion by 31 march 2025. you will brief and influence internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders at a national level, including welsh government officials. this will require securing and co-ordinating the input of nrw technical experts including operational and policy colleagues. you will ensure appropriate levels of stakeholder engagement (which could range from informing to co-production) from the start of the project. you will act as a specialist lead for freshwater monitoring within nrw.

qualifications and skills

1. you will have substantial and in-depth technical knowledge and experience in monitoring relevant to either freshwater quality or freshwater ecology including a good understanding of experimental design relevant to monitoring networks and programmes).

2. proven experience of leading and managing complex projects.

3. experience of developing strategies and plans.

4. you will have the ability to influence, negotiate and gain the co-operation of others.

5. you will have well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract key technical and non-technical information and present this in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences in both written and oral forms
