business development representative
wanted- enthusiastic person to work in business to business sales in a small, friendly office for a national painting contractor.
the role
working closely with the other members of a small team you will be directly responsible for contacting potential customers over the phone and email to introduce the services that bagnalls offers in commercial and industrial settings. you will build relationships with senior decision makers in a variety of sectors, including health care, education and leisure to influence them to use bagnalls to meet their painting and decorating needs.
responsibilities
the role will be mainly office-based and will require plenty of initiative as you start the journey of winning new business for the company.
sales responsibilities:
identifying new target customers through a range of different methods of research, including using social media
gaining a strong understanding of our customers so that you can clearly highlight and articulate what bagnalls can offer them
contacting and developing relationships, following up as necessary via phone and email
booking appointments with prospective clients
marketing responsibilities:
completing pre qualification questionnaires (pqqs)
using innovative ways to promote the company including developing case studies
managing the customer database
you
you may have telesales or customer service experience and are looking to progress in a business to business role. you need to be self-motivated, work on your own initiative and under instruction. this role may be appropriate for someone who needs to fit work around external commitments as we would consider flexible working arrangements (e.g. school hours) and hybrid working.
we ask that you have the following qualifications and skills:
essential criteria:
previous sales, telesales or customer service experience
strong verbal communication skills
a passion for sales and delivering results
confidence to build relationships with senior decision makers
excellent, friendly telephone manner
good standard of written english
basic microsoft office skills and ability to learn to use an in-house database
ability to learn about all aspects of the business quickly, and communicate this information effectively to others.
