housekeeper required – 15 hours per week monday, wednesday and friday (self-employed basis) @ £15 per hour

a motivated, friendly, responsible & very reliable housekeeper with a great attention for detail is required in a very busy family house with a super nice family, a few miles outside banbury.

the role is 15 hours a week over 4 days every week (excluding wednesday) & the hours can be flexible to a degree. this position is overall about ensuring the home is kept very organised, very clean, tidy & presentable. the family is made up of a full time working single parent with 3 boys of school age. a nanny is also employed by the family but being able to work by yourself & with initiative is very much required. personal transport will be required, given the location of the role. it also involves, the management of any people entering the home such as workmen or tradespeople & accepting deliveries. a knowledge of what products can safely be used on various surfaces such as real wood, metal, & carpet is essential. attention to detail is essential in this role & the ability to know when something needs repairing, ordering, or replacing.

guide to duties each week:

tidying the rooms of the house in preparation to clean cleaning, hoovering, dusting & polishing floors, furniture & fixtures

cleaning & sanitising toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, & sinks maintaining a clean & sanitary kitchen, including ovens & other appliances keeping kitchen cupboards, drawers & fridge clean & organised vacuuming, polishing, & the mopping of hard floors, using correct products on wood flooring & stone flooring weekly cleaning of dust gathering areas such as under/behind sofas, behind tall plants & bedside tables/desks & radiators sorting washing, loading, & unloading of laundry (all bed linens are externally cleaned & pressed 1 x a week) ironing small amount of clothing items making beds & changing bed linens to a high standard using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, & other cleaning tools correctly keeping bathrooms stocked with clean linens, toiletries, & other supplies cleaning mirrors & other glass surfaces such as windows (internal), pictures & light fittings emptying trash receptacles, recycling & disposing of waste steaming & cleaning some fabrics correctly & making or organising some minor repairs wiping & polishing blinds & skirtings monitoring cleaning supplies/household products & ordering more as needed reporting any necessary repairs or replacements

this job is a lovely job in a nice location with a lovely family & we look forward to meeting the right person. 1-2 more hours may be required each week during busy periods, but this will be offered if required & it is optional. there are always some optional extra hours available throughout any year for house sitting, errands & additional meal preparation if the nanny is away.

as per the governments regulations on contracting self-employed individuals, all applicants must:

be willing to register or be registered as self-employed have a recent dbs (or be able to apply for one) & carry their own liability insurance (or be able to acquire it). supply evidence that they have the right to work in the uk, before a contract can be put in place. provide 2 x recent references of employment & character.
