Corporate operations manager, region ii (oregon-based) - united states, portland

summary / objective

this position will join the leadership management team and reports directly to the vice president of operations.  primary responsibilities include inspired leadership for the operation of our company lines of business, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operations policies and procedures.  in addition, this position is also required to assist in promoting our company culture that encourages morale and performance. this position must have experience in a management or leadership position along with a deep understanding of financial management. 

essential functions

 

  • provide inspired leadership for the company.
  • make important policy, planning and strategy decisions.
  • develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
  • help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • monitor portfolio performance.
  • monitor rpm kpi reports, provide direct feedback to rpms regarding property performance.
  • communicate regularly with 3rd party owners regarding portfolio performance.
  • review mor and reac inspection reports.
  • reply to agency correspondence.
  • monitor rent increases.
  • ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • work with members of the executive management team to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals.
  • identify and proactively address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • support employee communication with the management team.
  • performs other related duties as assigned.

    supervisory responsibilities

  • yes, responsible for supervising multiple regional property managers and indirect supervision of all property staff within the region ii portfolio. 
  • work environment

  • remote work from home office (must live in oregon); office and building environment when working on-site.
  • travel required

  •   may require up to 50% travel to properties within the portfolio in oregon, alaska, utah and arizona. 
  • education and experience

  • education:  high school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.  training in property or real estate management related to affordable housing required. 
  • experience:  a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a regional property/portfolio manager, multiple rpm’s.  experience and/or training in a related field of affordable housing programs (section 8, hud, rd, tax credit, etc.) required.  relevant experience in general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management also required.
