job description
you will be part of a team managing and advising on marine protected areas and the marine environment throughout wales including managing cockle fishery regulating orders at the burry inlet in the south and on the dee estuary. you will be providing local cockle fishery management for the burry inlet cockle fishery, including coordinating and delivering cockle fisheries licensing, and supporting their regulation. you will work with colleagues within the team, and with enforcement colleagues to deliver this service.
the work will be a mix of office and field-based work on site in all weathers on intertidal areas in the burry inlet.
you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:
1. experience of working with shellfish sector.
2. experience of building effective relationships.
3. experience of dealing with difficult customers and hostile situations.
4. ability to interpret and communicate marine environmental data.
5. an understanding of the dee or bury inlet issues and conservation.
6. good interpersonal skills and experience of working collaboratively both internally and externally.
