Description koch engineered solutions (kes) is looking for a welder to join our kes manufacturing hub in dammam, saudi arabia. this role is responsible for welding components and equipment as per specifications and drawings. the role is responsible for preparing and performing hands-on, semi-automatic welding components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions using tig & mig. in addition, the welder is required to comply with koch safety requirements and behave in a manner that is aligned with our company culture. what you will do in your role read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on quality and customer requirements. set up components for welding according to specifications operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead) test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws the experience you will bring requirements: achieve or pass the following recognized certifications: 3g and 4g combo welding certification test positions plate gmaw rmd root gmaw fill & cap (tig welding) 6g pipe welding certification position 2 super coupon gtaw root gtaw fill & cap (tig welding) 6g pipe welding certification position 2 super coupon gtaw root gmaw fill & cap (tig welding) 6g pipe welding certification position 2 super coupon gtaw root fcaw-g fill & cap (tig welding) 6g pipe welding certification position 2 super coupon gtaw root smaw fill & cap (tig welding) visual (vt) passing criteria are as follows: reinforcement not to exceed 1/8 id & od all starts and stops must be feather ground as to have a smooth transition from one to another weld face shall be slightly convex with a smooth even transition to weld toes all weld toes must have a smooth transition to base metal any visual crack in weld metal or in base metal of weld coupon shall be considered a failed test. pass both rt criteria & bend test experience proven experience as a welder experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (tig, mig etc.) experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings in english knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) deftness and attention to detail aws welding certificate and good knowledge of different types of metal and their properties is essential. what will put you ahead experience in reading blueprints and fitting for heavy parts #li-ea1 .
