Description koch engineered solutions (kes) is looking for a mechanical design engineer to join our kes manufacturing hub in dammam, saudi arabia. what you will do in your role she/he will be responsible for customer's specification review, code calculations and structural verifications primarily for pressure vessel and shell & tube heat exchangers, compiling calculation report and drawing review and approval. as a equipment mechanical engineer you will have to handle these tasks on your day-by-day activity: 1. perform mechanical calculations of pressure vessels and heat exchangers in accordance with asme codes. 2. knowledge of asme sect. viii div.1 and 2 3. perform calculation of minor structural components like saddles, skirt, anchor bolts, lifting lugs, small frames 4. perform evaluation of localized stresses on components for imposed loads utilizing wrc 297/537. 5. interact with asme authorized inspector and customer's inspectors. 6. attend kick-off and pre-inspection meetings. 7. guide technically cad drafters. 8. redaction of material specifications for material purchasing 9. support the manufacturing department during fabrication as necessary 10. support project management on technical aspects 11. timely resolution of technical doubts by effectively communicating with counterparts and peers on the emeai and global organization. 12. collect shop feedback to improve the engineering deliverables to optimize the manufacturing process. 13.coordinate external engineering activities the experience you will bring requirements: 1. academic degree in mechanical or chemical engineering 2. relevant experience in mechanical design of shell & tube heat exchangers or pressure vessels. 3. familiar with international asme viii div.1, div.2 and eventually other asme standards. 4. familiar with aramco specifications for pressure vessels design. 5. proficient in english 6. operating proficiency and experience in software for pressure vessel design like compress, pvelite and good use of drafting tools (autocad preferred). 7. good knowledge of international standards (api 660, api 663 and tema) 8. basic knowledge of welding and fabrication processes 9. good understanding on different materials as per american standards. 10. good communication skill to interact with customer, manufacturer, inspection agencies & consultants.what will put you ahead . you have knowledge and experience with asme sect i., asme b31.1, asme b31.3 . you have experience with aramco specifications applicable to piping and structures. . you have experience in engineering of simple steel structures (small skids, frames) and/or piping systems. . you have been exposed to thermal engineering for heat exchangers. . you have knowledge of the ped requirements for pressure vessels. . you have business sensitivity. you are capable to find the most cost-effective solution optimizing use of resources and fulfilling customer's specifications. . mother tongue or proficient level in arabic.
