Live in maintenance/groundsman/general handyman - united kingdom, ongar, essex
we live in the essex countryside but are only 4 miles from ongar and epping high streets including the central line from epping which is approx. 8 miles away. harlow town centre & rail station is approx. 20 mins away.
we are looking for a ‘problem solver’ rather than a ‘problem maker’ who has experience in running a small estate. someone who is trustworthy, hardworking and shows pride and commitment in their work and can work on their own initiative.
we would need references and you will need to hold a full, uk driving licence. must also have own car to get around. only none smokers please.
general duties:
mowing/treating lawns, check/fix fencing
pruning, feeding & caring for plants and trees. planting of shrubs etc. a good knowledge of garden machinery i.e., tractor, lawn mower, chainsaw, strimmer, leaf blower etc
pond & fountain cleaning & pump maintenance
wash and general maintenance of cars
duck feeding and dog walking each day
general electrical and plumbing skills needed for house and grounds when needed
bonus if you have knowledge of pool maintenance
occasionally driving needed to & from functions etc (in our cars)
during busy times of the year (spring/summer) your days will be longer and in the winter months they will automatically be shorter as nights close in earlier.
this is not a general 9 to 5, monday to friday position, and your hours change with the seasons & general needs of the grounds and house. weekends are generally your own (unless pre-arranged)
you will have the use of our self-contained one-bedroom coach house, while you are with us, which would include all heating, electric & water bills. the coach house comes fully furnished.
start date beginning of september 2022.
