Business development manager - united kingdom, brighton, east sussex

this employer is a medical technology company based in the uk. they partner with acute nhs trusts and hospitals to commercialise their internal digital environment and negotiate long contracts for exclusivity to develop these services.

they are looking for a highly motivated, commercially minded individual with strong new business and account management experience. this person will support the existing team by working directly with digital media agencies to grow retained revenue from this sector.

this role provides the chance to join one of the uk's fastest growing digital networks and be pivotal in growing business from existing agency clients and developing new trade partnerships. the successful applicant will be required to manage existing business and relationships whilst raising awareness of and winning revenue for new services / proposition with strategic clients and partners.

you will be home based with some uk travel. you will also periodically attend the company's head office in brighton, east sussex.

key areas of responsibilities:

- new business development primarily with digital media agencies & life science clients (including pharmaceutical companies) via existing relationships and proactive lead generation

- create strategic business development plans to ensure revenue growth from existing clients & new business from identified target organisations

- draft and prepare written proposals, pitch presentations & other communications to both established & prospective clients and related third party organisations

- client satisfaction - ensure clients are delighted & loyalty is ensured

key attributes & competencies:

- self-motivated, autonomous, driven & able to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment

- have a proven and demonstrable track record in prospecting & establishing a maintaining profitable account relationships in the digital / direct marketing sector

- ability to overcome objections, resolve issues & identify buying signals

- a clear and concise communicator at all levels who develops trust easily to the organisation

- ability to work in a dynamic environment working to defined targets and deadlines

professional experience:

you will have a minimum of 3 years prior business development / account management experience ideally in digital services and/or life science sector with a proven ability of building strong client relationships and surpassing expectations.

you will have a track record in successfully increasing sales and delivering a consistently high level of service within budget and time constraints.

ideally you will have a strong knowledge of digital media and related technologies with the ability to work with complex data from a variety of sources.

you will be educated to degree level (preferably in life sciences or business).
