the role

the difference our new principal cost analyst/estimator will make

as a principal cost analyst/estimator you ll have a role that s out of the ordinary. you will be part of an exciting transformation across our project management and project controls function, driving world class project delivery performance. working within a dynamic project environment, you will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of a team of senior and functional estimators in the production of multi-disciplined labour estimates.

day to day, you ll be leading team outputs and will be key to the successful delivery of submarine contracts and the capture of additional or emergent work required during the project execution phase of our submarine maintenance projects. combining your enquiring approach and analytical skills, you will provide insightful management information which will support senior management decision making. you will continually develop the capabilities within your team and strive to develop and maintain a high performing estimating and cost analysis function, utilising the most up to date tools and techniques

essential experience

• demonstrable and proven evidence of having worked in a relevant estimating capacity preferably supported by membership or formal qualification by a recognised professional body (e.g. acoste, iceaa etc.)

• you will have excellent interpersonal skills, allied to good numerate and written communication and strong computer literacy.

• you will possess strong stakeholder management in situations of competing priorities and enjoy working in a busy and dynamic environment.

• a working knowledge of work measurement, cost estimating, cost and data analysis, cost modelling and assurance

you will need to satisfy security requirements. this may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving security check (sc) clearance.
