an exciting opportunity for the position of design engineer/project engineer has arisen in this small company due to sustained growth from their varied customer base. they specialise in the design, build and installation of bespoke high temperature ceramic filter systems. they have a worldwide customer base which spans many different industry sectors including product recovery, waste to energy, biomass, gasification, metal recovery and incineration.

overall purpose of the role:

to assist the engineering manager in the design and detailing of their ever-increasing product range. this is the perfect opportunity for an experienced cad designer to begin a rewarding career in the engineering industry.

main responsibilities:

- to assist the engineering manager in the design and detailing of their ever-increasing product range

- design of bespoke filtration systems including structural steel work

- design and development of components and products

- detailing existing designs

- site layout design

- working in 3d primarily (auto desk inventor)

- incorporate feedback into 3d model designs

- make revisions to models as requested

- run simulations and stress-tests on all 3d models before prototyping

- keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies

- pursue ongoing education in the field

- utilise large databases of material property information to best select materials for modelling

- produce bom and order materials

skills:

- the person should hold a mechanical engineering degree / similar, or minimum 3 years cad draughts person experience

- have good working knowledge of either autodesk inventor or other autodesk programs

- looking for a long-term position with progression

- experience in structural steel work would be useful

- experience in cfd modelling could be useful but not essential

- be flexible and prepared to travel to customer sites on occasions if required

benefits include:

- salary £25,000 to £35,000, which is negotiable (may consider more depending on experience)

- hours - monday - thursday 07.30 to 17.00, friday 07.30 to 13.00

- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
