purpose of the role

this role is focused on the second goal - to help transformation in the uk development and humanitarian system by proactively responding to the rapidly changing external environment.

the programme aims to:

ensure our sector understands its changing context through delivering new and futures thinking for our members and allies

contribute to significant progress on the decolonisation and decentralisation of development from the uk

support the sector to be safe and resilient

decolonising and decentralising development involves projects on anti-racism and locally led development. supporting the sector to be safe and resilient involves our work on funding, business models, protecting civic space and safeguarding. each of these areas is owned by different members of staff who come together to form the goal team. this is a flexible team that is separate from the line management structure.

this busy and wide-ranging role coordinates and supports the goal team working to help the sector to transform. you will enhance the impact of the work by providing logistical and administrative support for goal 2 and the effective functioning of the team. in addition, the role supports securing funding from trusts and foundations across bond as this is critical and much of this work is funded this way.

the day-to-day tasks include supporting the team, coordination of events working with the events team, monitoring our progress and setting up meetings with funders. you will support team structures and systems to operate effectively and contribute to a positive team culture.

main responsibilities

coordination of the goal 2 team and support for goal activities (70%)

organise regular team meetings and team away days, sharing agendas in advance and writing minutes.

coordinate inputs into the organisational impact tracker and support quarterly reporting

support team structures and systems to operate effectively and contribute to a strong and positive team culture.

attend weekly bond communications meeting on behalf of the goal 2 team.

provide administrative and logistical support including coordinating calls, setting up online meetings, sending out meeting details, collating feedback, and recording activities, learning and engagement on bond s internal systems (salesforce and sharepoint) for our goal 2 projects - decolonising and decentralising development (anti-racism and locally led work) and ensuring a safe and resilient sector (funding, civic space campaigning and safeguarding)

coordinate the production of outputs for other mini projects such as blogs, reports, briefings, toolkits and other resources.

support the creation and management of the expert partner group that aims to bring voices from the countries where our members work into our work

bond-wide fundraising coordination and reporting (30%)

design and implement processes to keep us on track and ensure that we manage and track all our fundraising relationships on salesforce

ensure high quality funding opportunities are shared with members via our website.

set up donor meetings, funder events and keep the team on track with follow ups

ensure that we meet our fundraising targets and key funding submission deadlines

prospect research as required

support on bid submissions

assist with grant monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including providing administrative support for the civil society collective programme funded by the fcdo.

person specification

essential

excellent organisation skills, including ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload and work to deadlines.

some experience of undertaking administrative tasks efficiently to support a team or manager

understanding of project management processes and procedures.

experience of coordinating the production and delivery of materials such as reports, blogs, learning resources.

some experience of organising online and face-to-face meetings and events.

comfortable working with communications, finance and other software packages.

good written communication skills and some experience of producing high quality written outputs.

sound working knowledge of ms office and ideally also of crms.

fundraising knowledge and experience of supporting proposal and tender submissions

an understanding of the key issues and themes within international development.

experience working with membership-based organisations such as communities, networks and coalitions, ideally within the charity or ngo sector.
