about the role:

the purpose of the role is to provide personal, practical, social and emotional support to people in their own homes, in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

main duties and responsibilities:

to follow the policies and procedures of the business at all times.
to portray a professional image and represent the company in line with the company’s high standards at all times.
contribute to the ongoing support of people who use our client’s services and their informal carers.
contribute to the movement and handling of people who use our client’s services to maximise their physical abilities and mobility.
enable people who use the services to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
enable people who use our client’s services to achieve physical comfort.
enabling people who use our client’s services to maintain a good level of nutrition and hydration.
to provide assistance with toileting, including emptying and cleaning of commodes, emptying and changing of catheter bags and the use of aids to continence such as pads.
to provide social support such as talking and listening to people who use our client’s services, helping them maintain contact with family and friends.
promote effective communications and relationships.
to record all actions and information within the home in a clear, legible and professional manner.
to report all changes in the health and social circumstances of people who use our client’s services to the manager as soon as practical
receive, transmit, store and retrieve information in adherence with the general data protection regulations
to work as part of a team with colleagues and work closely with other agencies and professionals involved in the care of people who use our client’s services, for example, district nurses.
to administer medication to people who use our client’s services as identified by the support plan. care workers must not advise on the use of medication of any type.
contribute to the ongoing support of people who use the services and others significant to them.
to attend any training provided by the company and to attend meetings, and reviews regarding the people who use the services as required.
develop one’s own knowledge and practice.
to undertake all duties in accordance with the company policies and procedures and abide at all times by the general social care council code of practice. of particular importance are policies relating to prevention and detection of abuse and confidentiality.

no experience necessary as full training is provided.

driving licence preferred but not essential.

the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced dbs check.
