print restaurant & the press lounge are looking for a banquet chef to join our team. 

our team does over 300 events a year on our beautiful midtown rooftop.the dramatic 360-degree panorama views of press take in manhattan’s glowing skyline, the cool breezes off the hudson river, and the stunning sunsets year-round. there are no high-rise obstructions nearby – just gorgeous vistas. with 6,400 square feet of glass-enclosed interior and a spacious outdoor terrace, the options for events are nearly endless.

the culinary team from print restaurant handles the catering options at the press lounge. the seasonal farm-to-table catering menu is filled with locally sourced ingredients. clients can choose from our standard menu options for seated dinners and cocktail receptions, but the team can always work on customization for a unique event. the high-end dining experience of print carries over to events at press.

each event at press is one-of-a-kind. we work with the host’s vision for the space when it comes to setup and decor. whether it’s a simple, elegant affair or an exuberant celebration, the setting is always breathtaking. we work closely with our clients from start to finish to create a memorable event, a relaxing atmosphere, and an enjoyable experience behind the scenes. our polished staff is attentive, courteous, and thrilled to work with you!

responsibilities are:

work with culinary director on events menus. organize and order for beo’s. manage, produce and delegate all event prep. expedite and plate all food for events. calculate food cost and prepare counts for accounting. participate in weekly meetings. assist the restaurant in other kitchen managerial duties when events are lighter. 


to join the team:

you’re a team player and have strong communication skills. culinary degree preferred, with 4 year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ability to follow recipes. a great work ethic and commitment to uncompromising quality. you have a strong sense of urgency. willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays. full-time availability, including nights & weekends. you have an understanding for safe handling and storage of raw and cooked proteins. you are open to learning new techniques and refining existing skills.
