for a private estate near high wycombe, we are looking for an experienced head housekeeper to join and manage a team of housekeepers in all cleaning and laundry duties in a semi formal, fully staffed environment.

the estate is in the countryside so you must love the idea of working in a remote location and be able to drive in case of errands etc. whilst you will carry out all the usual duties, you must be confident in greeting guests and welcoming visitors and set a strong example to the house of housekeepers. a housekeeper who enjoys cooking would be a great candidate for this position along with being happy to assist the house manager with occasional service.

as the family are often in residence at the weekend, they would like the head housekeeper to take two days off during the week and to be flexible to work in shifts over the weekends to ensure there is good cover for the family. for live in candidates, you will be provided with a small, two-bedroom private cottage on the estate.

the family really value their staff and look after them very well and so are looking for a candidate who would like a long term commitment in their next role.

duties and responsibilities;

overseeing the housekeeping team and managing staff rotas
full housekeeping duties; cleaning and organisation of the property to a very high standard
inventory management
occasional light cooking
laundry and ironing
running errands
changing bed linen
organising waste and recycling
taking care of household plants and flower arranging
grocery shopping
supervising contractors
personal shopping

to be considered for this role you must;

be eligible to work within the uk
have a valid passport
be fluent in english language
have excellent contactable references
possess (/be willing to get) an up-to-date dbs check
have 5+ years of experience working for a uhnw family in london as a head housekeeper or a similar role in a luxury hotel or yacht.
