materials solutions is looking for a software/data engineer to fill the role of data analytics engineer as they grow their business in the exciting field of industrial metals 3d printing, for which they are an acknowledged world leader. the data analytics engineer will work in a close collaborative manner with operations, engineering and quality team members, as well as relevant suppliers.

the ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible and bring a wide skillset to support materials solutions on its digitalisation journey as it expands into serial production at its factory in worcester, uk. responsibilities will span the entire end to end data pipeline from data ingestion to display plus ongoing support. strong sql/database experience is fundamental to this role as well as a solid foundation in associated coding/software development.

your profile:

bachelor s degree in an it/technology subject preferred but not essential e.g. computer science/software engineering/electronics/electrical.relational databases, sql, views, stored procedures and indexingability to develop software in one or more programming languages (java, javascript, c#, python etc.)experience with agile development methodology (scrum, kanban, scaled agile framework, lean development, extreme programming) and devops principles.excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with all functions, internal and externalexperience working in a manufacturing environment in a relevant context plus industrial hardware applications and associated coding would be advantageous, particularly experience with erp/mrp/aps systems. 123 insight (erp/mrp) and opcenter aps/preactor (aps) would be ideal.

responsibilities:

this role will form a cornerstone of our digitalisation & it strategy. broadly, digitalisation will cover data capture/analysis, and development of bespoke software applications, industrial internet of things (iiot) implementation/integration, all involving databases particularly sql.

requirements capture and definition.software development in one or more programming languages (java, javascript, c#, python etc.) and low code languages (e.g. mendix, powerapps)following of best practises for: code documentation, version control, qa, methodologies and frameworks.integration of sharepoint and other systems with erp/mrp/mes/apsmicrosoft 365 integrationadditional responsibilities may include factory data acquisition including hardware specification, design and build/procurement; iiot, plc s, sensors selection and installation; network design and implementation; hardware and software integration; factory floor it systems selection, deployment and management.
