Laminator ii- 1st shift - united states, milford

adecco staffing is working with a manufacturing company in milford, nh who is looking for an additional laminator ii on 1st shift. this is a temp to hire position.

pay: 

  • 1st shift: $17.45 to $23.65 per hour based off experience

  • schedule:

  • 1st shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm monday through friday

  • job summary:

    under minimal supervision prepares, assembles and test all laminated assemblies for use in ultrasonic sensors.

    job functions:

    observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tooling and equipment and applicable to handling chemicals (including flux, isopropyl, alcohol, epoxies, solder and urethane foam).

  • must be able to handle, pack and assemblies of up to 20 lbs.
  • reads bill of materials and work instructions to determine what is required for each lamination.
  • organizes daily assignments.
  • washes steel and aluminum discs in the degreaser by submerging into aqueous solution.
  • cleans ceramics with isopropyl alcohol and paper towels.
  • smoothes steel and aluminum surfaces by operating sandblaster.
  • measures the thickness of the steel and aluminum using calipers and bom for reference and forwards non-conforming materials for disposition.
  • laminates cork to elements as prep requires.
  • laminates cork and elements to backplate as prep requires.
  • groups ceramics for dual frequency laminations and groups laminated elements for commercial packs.
  • operates drill press to evenly distribute epoxy and drills for lugholes. inserts lugs and verifies correct orientation.
  • may operate spot welder and sets the arm and weld range, then depresses the foot pedal.
  • solders prep elements as required.
  • weighs and mixes epoxy for use between the layers of the elements and on cork/foam prep.
  • fills foaming machine tanks following work instructions.
  • operates air vise to press and secures elements together.
  • cures elements in oven for appropriate length of time.
  • calculates lathe setup and operates lathe to machine appropriate window thicknesses on all matching layers.
  • phases elements for pack assemblies.
  • calibrates test fixtures using computer program.
  • communicates material issues on all required, expensed department materials to appropriate purchasing buyer.
  • assembles foam packs: gathers prepared elements, solders to lugs mesh tabs, places in proper foaming mold and dispenses foam per work instructions and/or bom.
  • tests frequency and impedance using digital and analog test equipment and phases elements using special test equipment.
  • troubleshoots testing and communicates all test issues with test engineer.
  • assists in commercial assembly as required
  • assists in lab on new lamination assemblies as required
  • maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • ability to interact positively as a team member with co-workers and supervision.
  • tests for capacitance, resonant frequency, anti-resonant frequency, af and impedance on laminated packs. documents on test log.
  • periodically empties and cleans sandblaster cabinet; refills sand as required.
  • assists laminator i in the absence of supervisor. assists in laminator training.
  • sandblasts foam packs and forwards completed foam packs to assembly departments.
  • reclaims material by operating a torch and heating the rejected element to pry them apart.
  • maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • completes all necessary paperwork on jobs completed.
  • performs all cycle counts for the department. reconciles significant variances.
  • enters production postings and other materials transactions using avante.
  • performs other related duties as may be required or directed.
  • education/requirements:
  • high school education or equivalent experience.
  • one or more years as laminator i.
  • previous soldering experience.
  • experience in using verniers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
  • computer literacy, basic math skills, mechanical ability and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • basic understanding of the avante computer system.
