Connector assembler iii- all shifts - united states, milford

adecco staffing is working with a manufacturing company in milford, nh who is looking to add experienced connector assembler's on all shifts! this is a temp to hire position.

pay: 

  • 1st shift: $17.45 to $19.96 per hour based off experience
  • 2nd shift: $20.94 to $23.95 per hour based off experience

  • schedule:

  • 1st shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm monday through friday
  • 2nd shift: 3:00pm to 11:30pm monday through friday

  • job summary:

    under limited supervision prepares all types of cable and junction box assemblies for use in ultrasonic sensing devices to established quality and production standards.

    job functions:

    while in the performance of job requirements, observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tooling and equipment and applicable to the use of chemicals including ethanol alcohol, flux, solder, glues, epoxies and aqueous cleaning solution.

  • interacts positively as a team member with co-workers and supervision.
  • performs a wide variety of assembly operations: wires any type of connectors wire type combinations to connectors of any type, includes y cables, and other cables with multiple connectors.
  • assembles all junction box products with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in assembly with pcba.
  • follows ipc-a-610 class 2 soldering criteria, including identification of quality defects.
  • utilizes airmar’s erp system for shop order process reporting and time keeping.
  • maintains clean and orderly work area and is responsible for participating in 5s department assignments.
  • reads and understands schedules and cable prints, bill of materials, specification sheets and work instructions.
  • ensures cable and junction box assemblies are properly wired by testing completed assemblies for electrical shorts and/or disconnected wires.
  • measures materials using rulers and other measuring devices.
  • strips insulation off wires to exact length with automatic wire stripper.
  • dips wires and connectors into flux for tinning and into filled heated solder pot.
  • operates heat gun to shrink tubing over cable where needed.
  • operates crimping machine or crimps manually as required.
  • able to correctly identify cable / components per bill of material.
  • performs repairs or rework as required.
  • operates cable stripper to remove cable jacket to appropriate length.
  • cross-trained in cable rolling machine operations.
  • cross-trained in cable department test and pack operations.
  • trains connector assembler i and ii as needed.
  • provides input into tools used by assembler/connector employee.
  • performs first piece inspection as required for co-workers.
  • works with team lead and/or supervisors to determine effectiveness and ergonomic function of tooling prototypes.
  • participates and provides input on continuous improvement activities.
  • performs other related duties as required.
  • education/experience:
  • high school education or equivalent background.
  • one year as connector assembler ii or equivalent assembly experience.
  • able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • good eyesight and manual dexterity.
  • ability to solder to ipc-a-610 class 2, including identification of quality defects.

  • visual acuity sufficient for work which deals largely with mechanical assembly and/or visual inspection involving small parts/defects.
  • ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures.
  • ability to endure periods of heavy workload.
