i’m an activist with severe cerebral palsy.

i need help with personal care, transcription and keeping my flat tidy.

i don’t need you to have any specific training or experience with disabled people before – i can teach you everything but there will be a lot of transcription of my work and this is only possible if you are able to write fluently. i am unable to interview anyone who is not confident with writing in english. there are generally three areas where i need help.

1. transcription of emails and articles.

2. helping me with my personal care including hygiene and food.

3. you may also have to keep my flat relatively tidy.

i cannot offer remote work. there are around 50 hours a week going at the moment to be shared between 2-5 assistants and i can be very flexible as to what hours i can give you. you must be able to help with physical tasks and personal care as i can need the toilet at any time. £13.00 an hour, generally two or three 9-5 shifts and possibly two 5-9 shifts a week. happy to either offer regular work or decide the week before. based in vauxhall, se11. generally, some shifts will be pretty regular and some others will be cover/shorter notice. flexibility is appreciated. all this can be discussed at the interview.

you must have the right to work in the uk. paye only and not cash in hand. the most important aspect of the job is listening and being empathetic and reliable.
