adecco is currently assisting its largest transportation client in their search for a hr coordinator (hr operations support) in overland park, ks.

hourly pay rate while working in this role is $20/hr.

    job description:

    1. hiring (through applicant tracking tool icims)

    2. training (new hire and existing employees)

    3. kronos attendance management

    4. discipline letters

    • generate letters per requests from managers and supervisors as needed.

    • follow up to make sure that letters are issued timely.

    • once letters are issued, fax to local union and mail to employee via certified mail. file in personnel (discipline) files.

    5. random drug screens (through escreen)

    • schedule all random drug screens that are in the escreen inbox. give epassport, chain of custody and drug and alcohol testing notification form to the som’s so that they can send the selected employees to the clinic for their test at the start of their next shift.

    • schedule onsite testing for all employees who work after hours.

    • follow up throughout the month to make sure that all random tests are completed before month end.

     

    6. fmla

    • track all hours listed as fmla in kronos in individual spreadsheets for each employee.

    • fill out and submit fmla checklists when employees request fmla through the fmla hotline.

    • review fmla usage and notify terminal manager and fmla team (human resources) of any suspected abuse.

    • coordinate with fmla team (human resources) to have employees get recertified if they are using more time than allowed on their designation.

     

    7. vacation approval and administration

    • receive all vacation requests for all management employees via email.

    • log the requests and verify if the requested day is open.

    • send approval or denial email to employee based on other vacations that same day to avoid being short manpower in the operation.

    • input vacation into the vacation tracking log.

    • keep log of how many days the employee has taken to ensure they have a certain number used within terminal guidelines and that they are not being held until the end of the year.

     

    8. ordering (through perfect commerce)

    • inventory office supplies and order all supplies weekly.

    • order janitorial and dock supplies weekly.

    • inventory and order placards.

     

    9. accounts payable (through concur)

    10. miscellaneous

    • distribute mail daily.

    • create and maintain supply of injury files for supervisors and managers.

    • use vital signs to create a weekly som scorecard and email to som’s weekly.

    • special projects as needed.

    • maintain and distribute staffing schedules

    • update org chart and email monthly to area hr program manager.

    • maintain employee files.

    • issue 72 hour notices when employees are away from work for more than three days.

     

    education/certification requirements:

    bachelor’s in relevant field or equivalent experience.

     

     

    experience requirements:

  • at least 2-3 yrs’ experience in similar capacity.
  • experience using hr software and systems.
  • attention to detail.
  • effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    this role is not remote but onsite/hybrid; thus, open to candidates near/in/around overland park, ks.
