the role

once more we are expanding our support team so there is an exciting opportunity for an it technical support engineer to join us. this role is based on site in our newbury office, where you will be working as part of a highly skilled and friendly team, providing desktop and it technical support across our client base.

this role is a great opportunity for somebody who has a good grounding in it support and looking for an opportunity to solve problems single-handedly and use initiative. with the support of your colleagues, you will be responsible for prioritising your tasks and building rapport with our customers.

in your role you will:

- act as a first line contact for it-related incidents logged through our ticketing system

- escalate more complex issues to 3rd line using the correct process

- to be proactive in the avoidance of repetitive incidents through publishing "how to's" and "tips" to users on a regular basis

- be able to grow your technical knowledge with a view to obtaining specialisms and accreditation in different areas

about you

someone who enjoys delivering exceptional customer service, and you get a real kick out of solving problems. you're happy working in a small team, often operating independently, and welcome the opportunity to demonstrate initiative.

the skills and experience we're particularly keen to see include:

- excellent problem solving & customer facing skills

- microsoft windows (7 to 11) and microsoft office (2013 to 365)

- knowledge of common desktop software packages / applications

- fault finding for hardware, desktops, printers, laptops, av

it would be helpful if you have knowledge of any of the following:

- 365 automation, powershell, scripting

- network technologies and security

- user management in an active directory environment.

- exchange mailbox management.

- vpn clients and connections.

- bitlocker device encryption and policies

remuneration

this role attracts an initial salary of £20-25k depending on the candidate and their experience.
