Senior process engineer - united kingdom, birmingham, west midlands

we are looking for a talented senior process engineer to play a pivotal role within our water and wastewater treatment design team.

this team is responsible for delivering all aspects of water and wastewater treatment projects, from feasibility to detailed design.

our uk offices are widely seen as the core of our global water and wastewater delivery capability, providing support to colleagues across our global business, and offering the best opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work.

you will undertake process investigation and design across all stages of water and wastewater scheme development from high level master planning through to detailed design and commissioning.

we normally work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to provide integrated solutions to our clients.

mott macdonald work on design projects for many of the uk water utility companies, as well as providing specialist consultancy services to many regulated and industrial clients in the uk and overseas.

your typical duties and responsibilities will include preparation of studies and reports, process calculations and drawings to support other disciplines in the preparation of their deliverables.

you will also be involved with business development including providing specialist support to our account leaders and engineering practices.

the role will require mentoring junior staff and you will play a key role in their professional development.

the role may also include line management responsibility.

candidate specification

we are seeking a chartered process engineer who can demonstrate the following attributes:

good technical knowledge of water and/or wastewater process engineering.

strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients, and on occasions lead the team.

a team player capable of working with, managing and motivating others to consistently deliver.

willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.

a drive to be abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions.

flexibility to travel within the uk and overseas would be advantageous to help support our uk and wider international workload.
