Manufacturing operative - united kingdom, leicestershire

gi group have a exciting opportunity for our client based in ashby- lount. we are looking for someone to do a manual role supporting the manufacture of refractory products. the role will involve mixing and handling products and moving around the factory; which is a dusty environment. it is a great opportunity for someone who wants a job involving manual and varied work.

hours of work and pay

monday to thursday : 08:00 to 16:30

friday : 06:00 to 13:00

overtime available

£10.22 (rising to £10.72 per hour after probationary period)

* accurately weigh raw materials to ensure compliance with product specifications

* feeding products into the machine

* bagging and palletising products

* making precast shapes

* mixing concrete and stripping moulds

* maintaining a tidy working environment and optimise space utilisation

* communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers

* follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations

candidate requirements

* strong attention to detail and ability to record information accurately

* experience in a manufacturing environment in refractory, concrete or cement is highly desirable

* ability to lift bags up to 25 kg and push wheelbarrows up to 300 kg

* wear required ppe throughout working shift (it is a condition of employment that you are clean shaven due to health and safety requirements)

* current forklift licence a distinct advantage

* level 1 maths and english essential

please note due to the location of this position the ideal candidate will need to be able to drive as there is very limited public transport.
