the christmas decorators, bath and bristol, are a professional christmas decoration service specialising in the design and installation of some amazing decorations to a wide variety of customers. we handle projects of all different sizes, from trees for residential properties through to giant bows for shopping centres.

due to our rapid growth, the christmas decorators are recruiting decorating assistants. as part of the warm and friendly team already in place, it will be the role of the decorating assistant to support the company with all aspects of its installation schedule.

the ideal decorating assistant’s key attributes would include:

quality focused – an eye for detail and an appreciation for delivering a quality product.

strong work ethic – willing to work long hours that may include nights.

team player – demonstrable experience of working collaboratively.

reliable – punctual, well presented and would consider themselves a good ambassador for the company.

good sense of humour - the team in place are light hearted and friendly. the ideal candidate would be too.

could you lead a small team to transform someone’s business or home for christmas?

as a lead installer you are an excellent team player who thinks logically and loves seeing a project through to completion. you have great communication with your small team of 4-10 people and can motivate them to give their best. you don’t need to love christmas, but you do need to love and take pride in creating something special.

as lead installer, here is a glimpse of a typical day:

· you’ll arrive at our premises near marshfield, just off jnct 18 of the m4 where you will collect your project pack, meet with your team members for the day and ensure the van is loaded correctly before setting off to location.

· upon arrival at site you will assume charge of the customer relationship for the duration of the install, meeting and greeting them and walking them through the plan if they wish.

· you will be comfortable working inside and out. you may be required to safely work at height to install some roofline lighting; or drilling into mortar to hang beautifully decorated garlands/wreaths and wrapping trees with our stunning lighting. you may also be working in a discreet environment decorating a large tree whilst the client continues with business around you. (full training given)

· whilst focusing on your individual task you’ll have the ability to encourage your team’s high standards of health and safety, tidiness, and decorations throughout the day as they conduct similar tasks.

· you might come across small challenges but your logic and calmness make them easy to deal with whilst you have the full support of your colleagues both on and off site. it may be that you have to work for an extra hour due to the challenges but this is ok as you’re flexible and understand the job is to be done.

· you have finished the installation and the site looks fantastic. you will check in with the client for sign off, tidy, and make good the site before you take photos of your days’ work.

· you’ll ensure the van is loaded safely and set out back for the unit to complete the day.

days can be long but they are always rewarding.

training: 2-3 paid days in october

notes: workwear is provided. you may be allocated to a project on site or the warehouse for decoration preparation.
