Construction materials engineer / laboratory manager – asphalt, concrete, and earthworks urgently required
job location: abha, khamis mushait (southern region)
the selected candidate will be responsible for managing the laboratory and ministry of transport work with duties within the lab and in the field which include, but may not be limited to:
• gathering samples of material for testing, conducting tests, monitoring density, and hma placement,
• work with paving crew to achieve quality results and consistency, and generate field reports.
• experience in asphalt and aggregate testing is preferred.
• certified and competencies are a plus factor
• knowledge in aashto m156 standards, and skill in the quality design for super pave, polymer-modified hot mix.
• constructing, maintaining, and operating standard laboratory equipment and ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
• make reports and tests results and keep up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;
• would co-ordinate with consultants and ministry personnel
requirements:
• experience in asphalt, concrete and aggregate testing and mix designs are preferred. superpave certification is a plus.
• ability to carry out standardized laboratory tests in accordance with astm and aashto standards.
• knowledge and understanding of basic operating procedures and mechanics of an asphalt and concrete plant.
• the willingness to work extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work.
• a valid saudi driver’s license
