Shipping associate - united states, milford

adecco staffing is working with a manufacturing company in milford, nh who is looking for an additional shipping associate on 1st shift! this is a temp to hire position.

**now offering a $500 bonus every 90 days, up to $1,500 maximum**

  • schedule: 

  • 1st shift- monday through friday: 7:30am to 3:30pm

  • pay:

  • $19.00 to $20.00 per hour based on prior experience

  • job description:   with all aspects of the shipping and receiving departments and serve as backup as necessary for each area. verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments. receive, unpack and deliver materials to appropriate departments. prepare product and other materials for shipment.

    role & responsibilities:

  • assist with shipments of all items per schedule, sales order, shipping memo or special instructions.
  • bar coding, label and identify shipments per individual requirements.
  • produce packing slips, commercial invoices, and other paperwork through erp or related systems as needed.
  • schedule shipments with designated service providers via telephone or utilizing on-line registration. prepare proper paperwork and required documentation.
  • package all products neatly. ensure that all product is protected and packaged properly to safeguard against damage or loss.
  • work with manufacturing engineering to develop new packaging as needed.
  • follow daily shipping schedule.
  • maintain records and logs as determined by supervisor
  • input data into erp or related systems. accuracy is critical
  • manage replenishment of packaging materials and supplies. maintain kanbans where appropriate.
  • maintain the shipping and dock areas so they are clean and organized at all times for safety and cleanliness.
  • receive, unpack and verify all incoming materials, recording all pertinent information and checking for count accuracy. report any discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • identify all returned products, separate them and deliver to quality.
  • maintain quality standards as established by company.
  • report any unusual conditions or circumstances to supervisor immediately.
  • follow procedures for handling chemical materials as outlined in the hazard communication plan.
  • follow all safety regulations including proper lifting and movement of packages.
  • all other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.
  • required qualifications:

  • high school diploma or general education degree (ged) required.
  • 1-3 years experience in a shipping manufacturing environment with experience using upsa and fedex software in addition to international shipping preferred.
  • experience with various software including microsoft office preferred.
  • familiar with lean practices and problem solving.
  • strong organizational and communication skills.
  • additional characteristics:

  • this position works as both an individual contributor and in a team environment.
  • this position required the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
  • this position may require standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
  • this position required good manually dexterity and visual acuity.
  • this position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
  • flexibility to work overtime.
  • ability to drive box truck.
