our client is looking for a toy technician to work with the team safety testing toy products. if you have at least 1 year’s experience in mechanical testing or laboratory testing, we want to hear from you.

our client is part of a globally successful testing services company. they provide fast, accurate, and cost-effective quality assurance solutions in the consumer products industry.

their range of testing services include flammability, fibre composition, special claims, restricted substances, as well as toys and childcare products.

they are looking for a technician to conduct testing on toy related submissions, including physical, mechanical, acoustic, and magnetic testing.

in this role you will be:

conducting preparation of samples for testing of toy products within required timescales.
responding to requests and queries from suppliers and clients relating to toy products.
supporting the analytical team in the timely preparation of all samples where required.
providing a high level of service excellence to customers and colleagues

key responsibilities:

to take ownership of the relevant areas of responsibility to meet business needs,
to carry out testing of toy samples according to en 71-1
preparation of samples according to en 71-2 for submission to the flammability department
maintain knowledge of the toy safety directive and en 71-1
preparation of samples for testing of toy products within required timescales.
preparation of dry samples for testing
support the analytical team in the timely preparation of all samples where required.
ensure that the quality and reporting of work complies with quality management systems and that ukas requirements are met to demonstrate and ensure a reliable quality system is in place
maintain designated laboratory areas and the equipment in a safe, clean, tidy, and serviceable condition to meet both ukas and company health and safety requirements
carry out and record the scheduled calibration of test equipment within required timescales.
ensure that test samples, equipment, and documentation are maintained in good condition
support contract review for toy testing of samples
any other reasonable task requested to support the business

experience and qualifications:

essential

a levels at grade c or equivalent in either maths or science subject

desirable

previous experience working within the toy/nursey industry with focus on product safety
experience of working within a ukas accredited laboratory
knowledge and working knowledge of iso17025
minimum of 1 years’ experience at a similar level in mechanical testing or laboratory testing, however full training will be provided for the right candidate
