i am an active, disabled woman seeking a personal assistant to help me live independently in the tottenham area. i have a 10 year old son who lives with me and is my pride and joy. the role does not require any night time work, but there will be a range of shifts throughout the week.

you will work for me directly, there is no agency involved. this is a real opportunity to assist someone to live their life the way they want, and we would hopefully develop a good, friendly working relationship. the whole point of this job is that you do the things i need help with so that i can live life in the same way that anyone else does.

the job is ideal for people who do not want to work standard hours and want to study or have other part time activities, but it’s important that applicants can be flexible about the days they can work.

i use an electric scooter and/or power chair so there is no need to push me around however there will be some heavy lifting at times, which i can guide you on.

i’m based in tottenham, with bruce grove and seven sisters stations the closest. although i tend to go out locally, at times i have been down to the south coast, sussex, kent among other places and even abroad with my son and carer.

this is not a cash in hand type of job, nor is this a nanny role. your responsibility is for taking care of me.

the pay is currently £10 per hour with a potential for it to rise. hours will fluctuate per week, which is why i will require someone who can be flexible.

you should ideally have a uk or eu passport. if a non-eu passport is held:

- you should have the right of permanent abode in the uk, or

- you should already have relevant visas to work in the uk, without restrictions on hours that you can work,

- uk valid driving licence

- it should be relatively easy for you to (obtain visas, etc, and) travel around europe and the usa.
