this a fantastic opportunity to work for an award winning company near trafford park. they do work in aerospace, formula 1, oil & gas and general engineering. duties: set and operate 4 & 5 axis vertical milling machines (when required). set and prove out job, obtaining a first of job has been proved out. run milling machines after setting, ensuring that quality is maintained throughout the entire production run. ensure that tooling, fixtures and relevant information is prepared and available when required. identify any engineering requirements / issues that arise and communicate to the relevant person i.e. team leaders, production planner, maintenance & engineering departments ensuring routine machine maintenance is carried out as necessary engineering experience completed an engineering apprenticeship.(desirable) experience working on machines with a mazak or fanuc controls. able to set and operate with mazatrol or fanuc machines. good understanding of engineering practices and methods. knowledge and understanding of machining methods. computer skills basic knowledge of computer programs. able to navigate and have an understanding around directory structures and network drives. familiar with cmm software. hours of work: monday to friday: shifts: monday friday 06..00hrs, alternate weeks monday wednesday 13..45, thursday 13..15, off on fridays holidays & benefits: 25 days holiday plus 8 bank/public holidays. 2 flexible holiday days per annum (purchase or sell) group personal pension scheme. employer contribution 5.5% employee contribution 3.5% life assurance 4 times annual salary lump sum. company sick pay scheme, subject to reporting rules. salary sacrifice for cycle to work scheme. company bonus scheme based on company performance. bonus investment scheme. occupation health medical. employee assistance programme - 24/7 help line. secure parking on site. free vend beverages. overtime rates are: time and a quarter, time and half and time and two thirds. overtime is not guaranteed
