Hmo authorization specialist - united states, jamestown (new york)

an hmo authorization specialist role in central square, ny is available through adecco medical and science. in this role, you will work with care managers to provide the required documentation for continued authorization.  the work hours are monday-friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.  this is a minimum 6-month contract-hire position starting in october 2022.

responsibilities include:

work directly with the rehab department, social work, mds coordinator, and admissions to obtain the required documentation. 

responsible to ensure that there is an authorization in place at all times for a resident that is in the facility under a managed care plan.

if a resident changes payer source such as medicare exhaust, you must be sure that an authorization is obtained prior to the change in coverage. 

taking care of appeals for authorization denials.

updating the information in the emr system.

qualifications:

high school diploma or ged.

minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as an hmo authorization specialist.

understanding of health insurance is a must.
