salary: up to £34,000 per year with a realistic ote £40k+ per annum

specialist medical gas services which include routine ppm, reactive maintenance and installation to nhs and private healthcare trust sites all over the uk

due to continued growth, the company is again looking to recruit a medical gas field service engineer to join their team – training will be provided.

role and responsibilities

this is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join an established company with a reputation of providing excellent customer service and for an engineer looking to improve their career and move into the niche sector. this is a mobile role completing planned ppm works and breakdown on medical gas systems in hospitals and other healthcare premises. on occasion you may also be asked to get involved with installation and commissioning projects.

candidate requirements

the ideal candidate should be based within the manchester region or surrounding areas. you will be part of a team of 10 engineers providing cover to nhs trusts and pfi run hospitals. the area of work will predominantly be in the north west and yorkshire regions, although, one of our key clients has a nationwide operation, so on occasion, you will be expected to work away from home. you will manage your own workload, prioritising urgent calls over routine maintenance checks.

candidates should come from a mechanical or electrical background and will hold a recognised craft or technical qualification. a field service background, with a knowledge of compressors, vacuum pumps and pressure systems would also be a distinct advantage but not essential as full product training will be given. you must be flexible, motivated, appreciate the importance of customer service, be smart in appearance, literate, articulate and take pride in your workmanship.
