the role

our client is an international property group, operating luxury private clubs and exclusive hotels around the world. we're looking for a club secretary & event manager for an exclusive private club in the south of france as part of their portfolio. ideally based in london uk (or in a commutable distance to the south of france), with hybrid working and flexibility for travel throughout the year. you can expect to be based on-site in the south of france for the whole summer season, june to september, with some flexibility to fly home on your days off, but generally to be committed during this time. this is an exciting opportunity with scope for personal and professional development as the club launches and grows.

sounds great, what will i be doing?

on top of general club secretary duties; overseeing administration, research, reporting, as well as tracking member payments and after sales, you'll be managing all internal and external member and guest events, with the support of the senior team. as event manager you'll be overseeing events coordination, including budgeting with the internal operations team, liaising and managing any and all external service providers and vendors, and being the primary point-of contact for all events and members at the club. you will be the principal face of the club and its services to its members, which will include offering a service which goes above and beyond what the club concierge and operational staff/management would do.

as club secretary & event manager you'll directly support the chairman, vice chairman and senior support team, acting as a shadow and right-hand for the decision makers of the club. you'll be answering questions related to club guest privileges, curating events, as well as overseeing reservations for vip non-members/guests, club programming topics and more.

what we're looking for

you'll come from a dynamic events and/or high level hospitality support role ideally within upscale hotels, property, or from luxury brands. events backgrounds are highly desirable, with an understanding of setting, planning and managing budgets, research and negotiating with suppliers. you will have an intrinsic attention to detail, with high performance and drive.

as a superstar candidate for this role, you will be confident with the use of technology in the workplace, being organised with correspondence, as well as with database management. excellent communication skills are a must and you will be familiar - and comfortable - with the world in which the club exists. working with members, patrons, management and teams globally, you will be able to switch the tone and pace, and converse with all, having a high eq and being able to get on the level of whoever you are working - and dealing - with.

this is an exclusive offering, with a highly personalised service; relationship building around a family community is key. you will be considered, flawless and refreshing in your approach and above all, a key ambassador for the club and senior team.

what's the deal?

a permanent opportunity to start immediately in a hybrid setting. you can be based from anywhere in the uk or europe, with the ability to work remotely and to be able to travel internationally for short trips between october-april to accompany the vice chairman for exclusive and intimate members' events.

in the high season (june-september) you can expect to be based at the club in the south of france, with short trips home as/when needed. accommodation and a car/scooter (tbd), will be provided as part of your package and will be discussed with successful applicants.

due to the nature of the summer set up, candidates who are able and happy to drive a scooter are required and transportation will be discussed on a case by case basis. your salary is competitive and will be based on your current earning capabilities and your level of experience. expenses when travelling will be covered and wider package details tbd with successful applicants.

if this sounds like the role for you then please do get in touch, we'd love to hear from you and interviews at taking place now for an immediate start!

please note that candidates with excellent checkable references and relevant experience need only apply.
