position summary: follow nestlé purina standards to create and maintain technical information products, mainly videos with “real-life” video clips and 3d animations. videos are created for specific tasks performed on a variety of equipment in a manufacturing environment.

primary responsibilities: work alongside technical publications & training associates, assembly department personnel, and engineers to develop technical maintenance videos for equipment at purina pet food and litter factories. this includes planning and executing video shoots using purina digital recording equipment; audience analysis, task analysis, storyboarding, and narrative writing; facilitating reviews and receiving and incorporating feedback from subject matter experts, including technical publications & training associates; and learning and following nestlé purina standards, processes, and style guides as applicable for all of these production and post production activities.

• strong command of grammar and punctuation; capable of writing concise, clear messages for video annotations and easily read and understood narratives.
• attentive to technical details and details specified in purina processes, standards, and style guides
• audience analysis skills to enable production of relevant video content
• experience creating aesthetically-pleasing, clear, and technically accurate graphics
• experience creating 3d animations with inventor or 3ds max is a plus

demonstrated experience in technical communication, that is designing and developing information products such as videos or pdf documentation for assembly, installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment/machines. experience includes research, interviewing subject matter experts, shooting and editing video, developing graphics, writing narrative or procedural steps, and composing all elements into a final product.
