adecco is assisting a client recruiting for a paving supervisor position in plattsburgh, ny. this is a permanent direct hire opportunity with full company benefits!
responsibilities of paving supervisor:
accountable for all resource management and costs
must be able to read, interpret and understand all contract documents, bid documents, job specifications, plans, and p.o.’s as applied to the project
assist estimator(s) in the pricing of new items and or change orders
set up staging areas, field offices and dump sites as applicable
manages paving personnel to ensure efficient operations
schedule field personnel, subcontractors, material suppliers and coordinate with public utilities
oversees equipment preventative program, ensuring all equipment meets or exceeds dot standards
assesses and analyzes departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
identifies potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue
identifies opportunities to expand or shift course in order to take advantage of changes in the market
ensures universal policies and procedures are accepted and maintained
ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
required qualifications of paving supervisor:
four (4) year degree preferred. (engineering, construction management, paving)
ten (10+) years construction experience and three (3) years supervisory experience
experience in scheduling, ordering, quality control, and paving?
strong mathematical skills required
monitors employee activities and provides guidance where needed
ensure job expectations are communicated clearly
encourages a positive work environment and culture for all employees
collaborates with the hr manager on training needs
deals with escalated customer complaints
