adecco is hiring immediately for material handlers with a local client in tampa, fl. material handlers perform essential duties with pay starting at $16/hour, plus mandatory overtime.
responsibilities:
assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing orders to sales associates for processing
read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped
assemble products and participate in inventory counts, as needed
complete your work in a safe manner; adhere to all safety policies and procedures
must be able to lift, push or pull at least 75 lbs. pallet jack/dolly
ability to load and unload trucks
standing for long periods of time
constant movement throughout the day
capable of lifting up to 49 lbs. (on your own) with or without pallet jack/dolly depending on product
lifting requirements 50-75 lbs. (team lift) pallet jack/dolly without pallet jack/dolly depending on product
requirements:
high school diploma or equivalent ged
basic written and verbal communication skills
basic computer skills
availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, due to varying freight volumes
dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry
experience loading and unloading trailers
experience using handheld scanners
the ability to apply critical thinking to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form
standing for long periods of time
finished with task, ask what’s next (proactive)
moving at steady pace
each day you are expected to be prepared to stay 1-2 hours after your shift ends, this is mandatory
you must you notify management team 24 hrs. notice before, if you can't stay longer than your scheduled shift
