Ocean freight operation agent - united states, pasadena (california)

adecco is assisting a local cold storage freight forwarding client in recruiting for a ocean freight operation agent in the lax area.  mon- fri 8am-5pm. ot may be required!  pay rate $25-28/hr. doe this is a long-term, temporary position based on performance.

key responsibilities:

prepare commercial documents and bills of ladings to support export operations

track and trace shipments from departure to arrival, alerting clients and management accordingly

execute daily customer / vendor sop requirements to ensure necessary document and processes are followed

respond to customer orders, inquires, invoice questions, and other correspondence timely and professionally

maintain shipment system data and document integrity for client web tracking purposes

all other tasks as assigned by the ocean operations manager

skills qualifications:

previous experience in ocean freight and/or freight forwarding

experience using cargowise is a plus

knowledge of ocean export processes and regulations

proficient in ms office suites, including outlook

excellent communication skills both written and verbal

ability to manage time and priorities wisely to address customer’s changing needs in a fast-paced working environment

outstanding customer service skills

strong attention to detail

able to work both independently and as part of a team

comfortable using computers and new software
