maintenance mechanics needed – food industry – maspeth queens, nymultiple shifts available. excellent salary and benefits.

the maintenance mechanic  is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all mechanical equipment and surrounding facilities without supervision or assistance.

essential duties and responsibilities include the following. other duties may be assigned.

follow all safety, food safety, & gmp rules and regulations.

possess the electrical competency to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.

diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment to “like new” state when required.

work unassisted and unsupervised to job completion in a timely and proficient manner.

maintain or exceed speed and efficiency while maintaining or improving quality of work.

install and dismantle machinery and equipment.

overhaul machinery by tearing down equipment and repairing or replacing damaged machine parts.

operate mechanical equipment to diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs.

care for and use hand tools in the repair of equipment and structures.

perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs.

perform all general preventative maintenance duties such as greasing oiling, etc.

possess excellent technical and critical thinking skills.

identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the maintenance manager for assistance.

all other duties as assigned.
