with routine supervision, this position is responsible for efficiently and safely transporting freight under specific deadlines. this position is over-the-road on a dedicated lane from the dfw to illinois. if you live along the route (ok, mo, il) you are able to pass through for resets when you are off duty and in the area as long as it does not affect dispatched delivery appointments.
each full week you work you accrue one day off a week. you are able to accumulate these days for your home-time (7 days at a time max). this works out to 7 weeks paid time off a year!
responsibilities
transport finished goods and raw materials to and from shippers and receivers
inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
plan routes and meet delivery schedules on time
document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and submit fuel/toll receipts through our company used apps (samsara, axele)
input “macros” into customer required automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process (when required)
comply with dot truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
collect and verify delivery instructions per dispatch
immediately report defects, accidents or violations
experience with electronic equipment and software (gps, elogs, etc.)
required
verifiable tractor-trailer experience
ability to drive long hours
extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
no more than 3 recent moving or driving violations
adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, re-powers, etc)
valid commercial driving license and med card
