we are looking for a legal counsel to join our estates team based at our newbridge hq. this role will provide support to the estates team to help achieve our goals for our uk portfolio of stores as they continue to grow and develop.

the company has over 125 leased properties across the uk. we are also actively working on new store locations around the uk and therefore, it is essential that the successful candidate has a flexible to suit the plans of the department and overall company operations.

reporting to the estates manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for acting as the main point of contact for all property related legal queries.

this role will be based in our head office in newbridge, edinburgh

the team:

this role is part of a team of staff who serve the retail portfolio operations including an estates manager, project manager, maintenance operatives and a maintenance helpdesk team offering a repairs and administration service.

the role:

- manage and oversee a large property portfolio

- negotiate and draft legal documents relating to properties

- be the first point of contact and manage external counsel relationships

- complete title searches and all forms of conveyancing relating to the projects

- completing lease revisals as part of lease

- minute drafting and instructing external solicitors on lease revisals.

- advise company on commercial property law, practice and dilapidations claims

- general contractual law requirements

- develop maintain legal best practices and process resources for the team

your skills:

- qualified lawyer with at least 4 years post-qualification experience in real estate and commercial property law

- experience with scottish, english and welsh property law

- an ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

- excellent organisational skills and multi-tasking ability
