supporting young people is important. especially for those who have been through homelessness, the care system or had a bad start in life, with lack of family support and very few opportunities. if you have some housing, tenancy and support experience, you will can help. we are looking for an empathic, non-judgemental and understanding floating support worker to assist on an amazing project, across the neath port talbot area. what will you do? work with and support young people (16+) who live in their own tenancies, across the local area. you will be there to mentor, guide and help them to build their independence deal with issues, rule breaking and housing related issues get involved when things don't go as planned make sure the properties assigned to you are turned around quickly, so the project can support more young people travel around the area, meeting with your caseload of young people (around 7 people will be assigned to you) what do you need? a solid grounding in support work experience in, and understanding of, homelessness you will have worked with young people in previous roles excellent knowledge of housing, tenancy and housing management qualifications in youth work, social care or similar are great, but not essential a strong will and a desire to help others your own vehicle is essential to get around the area willing and able to assist with the occasional on-call helpline what will you get? a permanent position with an amazing youth support charity gbp21,702 salary good holidays, pension and other benefits 9.30am to 5pm working hours (with some flexibility required) 35 hour working week a great induction and training programme if you want to get involved in this project, and you have the housing and support knowledge required to make a real difference, get in touch with people. or apply through this advert
