job summary:
responsible for facility and production related equipment. including corrective and preventative maintenance of complex, automated process machines, laboratory equipment, hvac, refrigeration, boilers, industrial water treatment, air compressors, plumbing, security and alarm systems. new equipment installation and validation, contractor safety and maintenance related ehs procedures. maintains cmms and spare parts program.

must excel at customer service.
must be comfortable with a fast paced, dynamic environment with frequent shifts in priority.
familiar with 5s concepts and will keep an organized and clean workspace
responsible for ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance program of all production and facility equipment, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. knows how process equipment is supposed to operate and can independantly detect, troubleshoot, and repair when it does not. manages technical publication library and spare parts program. interprets mechanical specifications and operational manuals needed for the proper maintenance and repair of equipment. can work with manufacturers remotely to rectify machine issues.

keeps abreast of technological advances and developments in the field through continuing education programs.

responsible for facilitates contractor safety and safe work permit safety processes. responsible for implementation of additional ehs procedures such as lock out tag out, ozone depleting chemicals and proper disposal of maintenance waste. inspects building and equipment for safety issues and reports deficiencies. performs related repairs as required to correct.

inspects facility regularly and reports need for major repairs and obtains quotations from approved suppliers for submission to leadership. qualify s new suppliers as needed.
responsible for control and performance of site janitorial/sanitation contractors.
responsible for new equipment install and operational validations.
performs general plant maintenance including patching and painting of walls, replacement of ceiling tiles, repair of plumbing fixtures, door fixtures, ect.
responsible for organizing and optimizing facilities office to insure cost effective operations.
must work well with others and be able to work independently.
be a primary contact for alarm, backup power supplier and secondary contact for emergency personnel.
performs other duties as delegated, assigned and required.

education/ technical skills requirements:
education: minimum of a high school education, but preferably an associate degree in a related mechanical/maintenance area
experience:
combination of education, experience and/or licenses to demonstrate proficiency and the ability to manage a facility maintenance process and complete all necessary maintenance. minimum of 5 years directly related; hands-on experience required.

strong working knowledge of environmental, health and safety requirements applicable to facility engineering required.

must be proficient with email communication, and microsoft office and cmms

physical position requirements:
must be able to lift 50 lbs. must not be color blind, physically able to lay, crouch, bend, climb ladder and reach.
