Cnc operator - 2nd shift - united states, grafton
seeking an experienced, self-motivated cnc machinist on 2nd shift to carry out milling and lathe operations. this position offers a variety of job complexity within the prototype environment. will be cutting low volume production parts and materials such as steel, aluminum, plastics, and other various exotic materials.
job summary:
• setup and operate cnc mills and lathes, include hurco, haas, hardinge, and prototrak
• select the proper cutting tools needed to machine parts based on part geometry
• determine and design custom fixtures for work holding requirements
• use basic measuring equipment to perform quality inspections based on blueprint specifications
• produce prototypes, sample parts, and small run production parts
• organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional work environment
education and experience:
• high school diploma or equivalent required, 2-year machining degree preferred
• 1+ years of relevant setup and operating experience in related industry
• lathe experience a plus but not required
• basic understanding of multi axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) machining concepts
• proficient knowledge of blueprint reading, tight tolerance machining, and geometric dimensioning (gd&t)
