pay: $52/hr

hours: m-f, 8:30 – 5 pm

location: onsite in newark, 07103

duration: 6 months, temp to perm.

summary: the graduate medical education (gme) program manager will manage the daily office operations and administration gme program, supervise the medicine fellowship program coordinators and provide staff leadership for medicine education programs. this position reports to the program director.

duties include but not limited to;

  • implements policies and procedures for gme programs.
  • supervises and evaluates medicine education office staff and provides input for the evaluations of fellowship coordinators.
  • assists with the marketing and promotion of new and existing programs and services.
  • facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
  • ensures program and leadership satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
  • ensures competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs, staff training opportunities, and by providing feedback on staff performance evaluations.
  • manages day-to-day operations of the program(s) under the direction of the program director.
  • manages the annual program evaluation and procedures.
  • manages the production and distribution of manuals/handbooks for staff, rotation schedules etc.
  • manages program-wide events such as graduation and staff orientation.
  • as directed, assigns the drafting of program letters of agreement (pla) contracts between the program and affiliated sites, and coordinates and updates staff contracts.
  • manages and assigns proctors for annual specialty in-service examinations.
  • maintains staff scholarly activity data for accreditation purposes. communicates directly with specialty board, specialty societies and other organizations as directed and as required.
  • assists program director in screening and inviting candidates for interview. updates recruiting brochures, websites and other materials provided to applicants. reviews the required policy and document packet with interviewee including interview packet checklist and j1 visa forms.
  • develops and maintains program and recruiting webpages.
  • processes and tracks staff absences.
  • manages the on-boarding of new staff to the program, including orientation.
  • assists with due process for staff probation and termination. assists with the wellness program.
  • monitors staff morale and responds to concerns. manages staff mentor program.
  • oversees the maintenance fellowship and job opportunity files.
  • develops and implements the program budget. manages travel budget and may also be responsible for registering trip, early and final travel reimbursements.
  • attends monthly gme program meetings, participates at the national meeting.
  • performs other duties as assigned.
