the role

the difference our new international submarine support mechanical engineer will make

as an international submarine support mechanical engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. within the world of international submarine support each day is different, everything from; does a leaking valve or corroded fastener affect the safety and effectiveness of a platform; to replacement of whole sub systems due to capability upgrade or obsolescence. dealing with all aspects of our products from top to bottom and start to finish. with a real link to the end users, giving them the equipment they need, and ensuring their safety, so they can ensure ours.

day to day, you'll be designing robust factory acceptance tests (fat) for critical products, to reduce setting to work (stw) failures, by reviewing historic failures and growing your system knowledge. ongoing work will include supporting in service and dockyard queries, supplier and test facility concessions, design modifications and investigations and obsolescence resolution.

essential experience

• hnc/hnd or degree in engineering (or equivalent).

• industrial experience preferably in a high integrity industry such as defence, oil/gas, aerospace.

• good, broad, mechanical engineering knowledge preferably with some hydraulic/pneumatic experience.
