in this role, you will work alongside our ambitious community focused participation and partnerships team to lead on the delivery of communications. your role will sit within the communications service and report to the communications lead.

the role

we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications manager to join the communications team at camden council, which is in our wider participation, partnerships and communications service. in this role, you will work with the council's participation and partnerships team and with local partners to deliver high quality communication campaigns which enable and support community power and mobilise the borough to achieve we make camden ambitions. we're looking for a creative and innovative professional to deliver a range of targeted, multi-channel, evidence-based communications projects. you will take ownership of specific areas of council communications for our participation and partnerships work including the we make camden kit, citizens assemblies, we make camden summits and our wellbeing framework. within your areas of responsibility, you will manage a comprehensive forward plan of communications activity to support community focused participation and engagement. you will be expected to define priorities, set objectives and manage a busy workload.

about you

you will have a degree-level qualification or equivalent work experience. to succeed in this important role you will need to have strong writing skills, an excellent understanding of communications channels (including digital, media and marketing skills) and experience of targeting audiences effectively. you will have experience of developing and delivering communications collaboratively, working alongside community partner organisations. you will be able to confidently demonstrate how you have evidenced, targeted, delivered and evaluated campaigns and communications activity. you will also have experience managing budgets and defining resources needed for projects, and you will be comfortable and confident engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders. you will have experience of working in a fast paced environment, as well as political awareness and sound judgement.
