drug allergies; physical and psychological condition; fall precautions; pressure ulcer assessment and pain assessment.15. performs nursing interventions to include: inputs from the surgeons and other healthcare disciplines involved in the care of the patient; reviews and updates the surgeon for any significant change in the patient’s condition or when a new treatment is added or discontinued.16. administers medication following the seven (10) r’s of medication.17. follows infection control guidelines such as: proper hand-washing before and after the procedure; standard precautions; maintaining aseptic technique on each procedure; proper and safe cleaning of blood, body fluids, and chemical spills; and reporting potential infections to appropriate authority i.e. infection control nurse.18. receives endorsement and file from the ward nurse for patient undergoing operation19. constantly and continuously monitors patient for level of consciousness, vital signs, contraptions attached (restraints, iv line etc..) and skin color at bedside during operation documenting the same in appropriate nursing form where applicable20. recognizes reactions and unexpected complication applying appropriate nursing intervention and notifying the treating doctor without delay.21. performs her roles in the event of cardio-pulmonary arrest22. recognizes and supports patient and family rights by checking and/or letting patient sign an informed consent and explaining the procedure to be done and by providing privacy & confidentiality.23. safely delegates care to non-nursing staff with appropriate supervision.24. attends and participates on hospital-wide committees, designated meetings, quality improvement programs, service orientations and continuing education25. performs his/her roles in all emergencies such as fire, disaster, security risk within the designated area of assignment.26. reports significant information to the head nurse for appropriate action.27. performs nursing interventions such as:➢ contacts the physicians to give important information relating to patient under care or clarifying orders➢ preparation of equipment and drugs to be ready for induction of anesthesia.➢ assist the surgeon during the operation either as scrub or circulating nurse.➢ monitors and records vital signs before and after the operation.➢ anticipates needs that may arise while patient is in operating room.➢ observes patient after procedure for possible complications.➢ documents according to sgh policy nursing care activities done to the patient;
