we're looking for an experienced and passionate head chef to help lead the kitchen of our restaurant.
the ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of food preparation and a passion for cooking african cuisine and grilling. they will also have a background in preparing food in a healthy manner and understand how to use organic ingredients. the head chef will be responsible for ensuring that all food products are prepared, cooked and stored appropriately, and will also be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment. the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the kitchen staff in all culinary areas, such as food prep, dish washing and cooking.
the successful candidate will have level 3 food hygiene certificate, extensive experience in large and small scale kitchens, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and at least 3 years of african restaurant experience.
responsibilities:
manage a team including waiters/waitresses, kitchen assistants, porters and chefs, ensuring they successfully deliver the menu items to cost, time and quality.
order food supplies and ingredients.
perform inventory control of food supplies and ingredients.
communicate with the wait staff and management staff to adjust menu items and specials as necessary.
be responsible for and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times

salary: £11.00-£15.00 per hour
