Job description: senior accountant

position overview:
we are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior accountant to join our team. the senior accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, overseeing the finance team, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. the ideal candidate should have a degree in accounting or a related field, a minimum of 4+ years of experience in saudi arabia, and a transferable iqama. additionally, proficiency in using zoho books or similar accounting software is required.

responsibilities:

financial management: oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, and cash flow management.
financial reporting: prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to management, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
budgeting and forecasting: develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with senior management, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing financial performance.
general ledger maintenance: maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling accounts, ensuring proper recording of transactions, and resolving any discrepancies.
tax compliance: ensure compliance with tax regulations, including timely filing of tax returns, vat filings, and coordination with external auditors and tax authorities.
team management: provide leadership and guidance to the accounts and finance team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
process improvement: identify opportunities for streamlining financial processes, implementing internal controls, and enhancing overall efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
audit preparation: assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
system and software proficiency: utilize accounting software systems such as zoho books or similar platforms to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and analyze data.
continuous learning: stay updated with the latest accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, continuously enhancing professional knowledge and skills.

qualifications and requirements:

bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. professional certifications such as acca, cpa, or cma are desirable.
minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in saudi arabia.
transferable iqama is a must.
strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
proficiency in using zoho books or similar accounting software.
excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
advanced excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
strong leadership and team management abilities.
excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.
