Purpose of the jobthe job holder will support the senior designer and owner & founder with client meetings, presentations and all aspects of design including the quality of design, maintaining the company's reputation and standards. they will lead junior members of the uae team and be responsible for liaising with the design director to deliver creative, high-quality design concepts in line with project briefings from the client. principal accountabilities· maintain control and awareness of their projects, ensuring everyone involved is working to the best of their ability and within agreed timeframes.· report to the senior designer/owner & founder on all aspects of their design projects. · liaise with qs, site managers, contractors and project managers on all aspects of design.· attend meetings and ensure work in progress documents are up-to-date to ensure all target dates in terms of design are met successfully.· look at ways of alleviating issues within design and help improve the company processes.· meet prospective clients, take briefs and prepare proposals as per client requirement· co-ordinate with sales and site managers as well as consultants and contractors· schematic designs, sketches of joinery furniture & finishes selection· prepare and check drawings & related documentation for qs department for tender · organise and co-ordinate the production of drawings and submittal to the approvals coordinator for client/municipality approval where required· co-ordinate with all suppliers for samples, assisting the qs department in obtaining accurate quotations where required· look for new and cutting-edge design ideas and products to help the company maintain an edge in the competitive market.· keep up to date with the latest trends in technology and interior design, through constant research in both local and international market, sharing ideas with both dubai and manila teams · introduce potential suppliers from market knowledge · avoid frequent repetition of materials, furniture and fixture to specify. · maintain a library of quality products and suppliers introducing new companies and products on a regular basis· review and recommend options in design conceptualization particularly regarding materials, furniture and fixtures used.· maintain and develop an active compilation of references for various samples in the design department.· attend networking and design events, promoting the company and building relationships with peers and the design media.· build strong relationships with clients to deliver or exceed client expectations, achieving excellent testimonials and leading to referrals for new business. skillsknowledge, experience and skills to perform the role knowledge · computer literate with good operating skills in ms office, cad and photoshop · very good understanding of local and wider gcc market, especially in construction and interiors industry, including competitors and associated local relationships preferred · detailed knowledge of design including sales role involving interiors or office furniture experience · min 3 years working in the design department of an interiors company preferably in the middle eastskills· excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills in both english · excellent presentation skills · outgoing personality with the ability to engage clients· ability to work on own initiative with little guidance· self-motivated, confident, team player· excellent time management and leadership skills qualifications· bachelor’s degree in architecture/interior design from a reputable university.
